This article contains spoilers for tonight’s EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) received some huge news in recent EastEnders scenes, and it wasn’t good.
Viewers will know that Nish is dying from a heart condition, and earlier this year was given just months to live.
Nish disappeared from Albert Square after a showdown with ex-wife Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), and returned with the shocking news that he had a terminal illness.
At first, his family weren’t sure whether or not to believe him, but a short trip to the hospital confirmed that he was telling the truth.
This week, things took another turn for the worse when Nish collapsed in front ofSuki, struggling for breath.
Having stopped him from killing son Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) just minutes before, Suki was willing to watch Nish die, but was soon interrupted by a horrified Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James).
Nish was rushed to the hospital, where he decided to get his affairs in order, by amending his will to leave everything to his grandchildren – much to Suki’s horror.
Amid another huge family row the next day, a doctor arrived bearing news, and it came as a shock to everyone.
Though she couldn’t determine an exact timeframe, she revealed that Nish didn’t have long left to live and that his next steps would involve speaking to the hospice team.
Following the bombshell, Suki encouraged son Vinny to forgive his dad, before paying him a visit herself.

She revealed that he was welcome to spend his last days with the family, despite the fact that she knew that if she was in his position Nish wouldn’t give her the same courtesy, but made it clear that she was doing it for their sake and not his.
She made it clear that she wasn’t going to let him turn her into a villain, and that once he’d gone she’d still have her family around her.
As she called an end to their war and told Nish that he was free to die in peace, he appeared stunned. Will he finally give up on trying to get revenge, or will he continue to fight until his dying breath?
