After I’m A Celeb fans were left baffled by the latest exemption rules regarding Tulisa, others have only just been finding out about her famous dad.
I’m A Celeb bosses allowed Tulisa to sit last night’s Bushtucker Trial out after it was revealed the singer suffers from Bells palsy.
During an appearance on Loose Women in 2020, she said: “I do suffer from Bell’s palsy…it can cause facial paralysis, it can cause swelling.
“I think the first attack I had was after a serious horse-riding accident. I fractured my skull and it caused a lot of nerve damage.”
After The N-Dubz singer entered the jungle, fans have learnt new information about her personal life.
Tulisa is in the jungle (ITV)
While we all know that she was famously on the The X Factor as a judge and as a member of N-Dubz, but that’s all some people know about Tulisa, aka Tula Paulinea Contostavlos.
While ITV viewers have lapping up the entertainment this year’s line-up has brought while they rock their red socks and khaki kit combo, Tulisa’s dad has been rather absent from people’s social media posts.
Plato Contostavlos was actually part of the famous British rock band, Mungo Jerry which had massive success in the 70s with their hit ‘In The Summertime’.
You just know you’ve heard that song before, so don’t even act like you haven’t.
Fans who have just realised have been freaking out online.
One person wrote: “I did not know that Tulisa Contostavlos’ dad was the keyboard player in Mungo Jerry.”
Another commented: “I did not! Turns out there are many N Dubz fun facts I didn’t know.”

Someone else wrote: “Little price of Trivia. Tulisa’s father and Uncle were in the Band Mungo Jerry !”
Finally, one user said: “Recently learned Tulisa and Dappy’s dads were in Mungo Rerry of ‘In The Summertime’ fame ?”
Because of this, someone asked if it makes her a ‘nepo kid’ with a user denying it, writing: “I think they technically aren’t nepo kids because N-Dubz first gained traction on pirate radio.
“But also Dappy’s dad was their manager and their first album was named after him.. but yeah they weren’t even the main guys in Mungo Jerry which no one cares about anyway.”
Plato played alongside Ray Dorset, John Brunning, Byron Contostavlos, Mike Cole, Joe Rush, Colin Earl and Alan Johnson.
Bryon was his brother, who was Dappy’s (from N-Dubz) father.
Also known as Uncle B, Byron tragically passed away when N-Dubz were in their infancy, leading them to dedicate an album to him, and rise through the charts with their tribute song ‘Papa Can You Hear Me?’.
As it turns out, not only did he set her and the group on the path to fame by personally paying for the musical equipment which allowed her group to become musicians, but he was also a musician himself.
The group would never have set off if it wasn’t thanks to Plato and Byron’s wisdom.
