In case you’ve been living under a rock and are not exactly tapped into the world of YouTube and streaming stars, let us be the first to introduce you to Kai Cenat and his most recent and viral #BlackBoyJoy -centered series of livestreams.
Cenat, who’s been a rising star on YouTube and Twitch, has garnered a large following for his entertaining and random streams that often see a variety of celebrity guests. As of November 2024, he became the most-subscribed Twitch streamer of all time with his numbers sitting at 13 million.
He’s also the fifth most followed person on the platform. But that status more than likely has a lot to do with his caliber of guests —specifically Black male celeb guests — who have tapped into their inner joy and excitement when they’re in Cenat’s presence.
Don’t believe us? Just take a look at the most recent stream with Chris Brown from Thursday (Nov. 21), who was next-level goofy after he got over his concerns with being on livestream and ended up engaging in a hilarious dance battle with Cenat and taught him (unsuccessfully) how to sing.
If that’s not enough, then how about G Herbo and his toddler son who stopped by for some fun earlier this week on Monday (Nov. 18) and created one of the cuter moments when the young one gave a motivational speech?
Speaking of sons, we’d be remiss not to include rapper and fellow YouTuber DDG and his nearly one-year-old son Halo, who swung by for a good time earlier in November. While Halo’s appearance ended up causing a slight kerfuffle between his dad and mom Halle Bailey, it’s clear from the stream that a time was had. DDG’s appearance also caused some controversy thanks to fellow guests Quavo and NLE Choppa who ended up popping up but overall things were good.
Arguably one of the funniest streams Cenat has ever done was back in June when he had comedians Kevin Hart and Druski on. The stream — which also featured a random FaceTime call with LeBron James — broke the Twitch North American record for viewership with “712,600 peak concurrent viewers” and had 4.95 million unique viewers across 11.5 hours, per Afrotech. Numbers aside though, the jokes, roasts, memes, play fights and dancing made this the true epitome of #BlackBoyJoy as all three men were very clearly having the time of their life.
Throwing it back to September 2023, Migos rapper Offset joined Cenat for 24 hours straight and truly had a BLAST. In fact, he came out and said this was the most fun he’s had in a long time. Whether that’s due to the dance circle, video game battles, snacks of Offset literally falling out his chair — it’s clear that if he got invited back, he’d there in a heartbeat.
