Lorraine Kelly unveils stern warning she’s received from Rebekah Vardy | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

During her beloved ITV talk show, Lorraine Kelly told viewers that she had been advised against discussing the Wagatha Christie trial.

The 2022 sensationalised trial returned to headlines after Coleen Rooney was confirmed on the line-up of I’m A Celebrity and subsequently debuted during Sunday’s 2024 premiere.

During Monday’s episode, the socialite opened up about the case to her fellow campmates and shared her true feelings about Rebekah Vardy suing her for libel.

This came after Coleen took to social media and accused Rebekah of leaking stories about her, which she vehemently denied although Mrs Justice Steyn found the allegation to be “substantially true.”

While addressing viewers on Tuesday’s instalment of Lorraine, the 64-year-old revealed that the show’s lawyers have advised her not to say the words “Wagatha Christie.”

Speaking to reporter Rishi Davda, Lorraine revealed: “Now this is very serious Rishi, we’ve had some advice from our lawyers that we can’t actually say Wagatha Christie.

“We can’t say Wagatha Christie because it’s owned by someone, so every time we say Wagatha Christie we have to pay Rebekah Vardy a pound.”

However, Lorraine proceeded to burst into laughter as Rishi admitted: “I don’t know the going rate actually.”

As the presenter added: “So we’ll have to call it something else, what can we call it?” Rishi suggested: “We can abbreviate it to WC.”

On Monday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity, Coleen opened up about the infamous trial, which she called her “worst nightmare.”

When asked about the social media buzz surrounding the case, the socialite shared: “I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining.”

Coleen continued: “That was my worst nightmare to go to court, I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole world.”

When Dean questioned her about the term “Wagatha Christie,” and asked: “Who owns it?”

Coleen chuckled in response, as Loose Women’s Jane Moore explained to the radio presenter: “That’s a whole other… she does.”
