Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns predictions
The Steelers are riding high after beating the Baltimore Ravens to go clear at the top of the AFC North on Sunday and they can back it up with another divisional win over the struggling Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.
Mike Tomlin’s team have now won five games in a row to reach 8-2, while the Browns have the opposite record at 2-8 after losing seven of their last eight games.
The Steelers limited the dangerous Ravens offence to 329 yards and forced three turnovers while restricting star running back Derrick Henry to only 65 yards. Their defence is set to be missing Alex Highsmith again due to an ankle injury but, led by the awesome JJ Watt, they have more than enough muscle to overpower an ailing Browns offensive line.
There’s no love lost between these teams, which should guard against any complacency from the Steelers in this quick turnaround, but the Browns could find it hard to raise their game after a demoralising 35-14 loss in New Orleans on Sunday.
Quarterback Jameis Winston put up some decent numbers on his return to the Big Easy, with 395 passing yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions, but the Browns defence gave up an alarming 473 yards, allowing a dreadful 8.2 yards per play.
It’s fully justified that the Steelers are favoured on the road and they should have the edge where it matters in the trenches with the game set to be played in inhospitable conditions.
